Why can't pigs release heat? Due to Pig

's biological mechanism

Pigs cannot effectively eliminate heat because they do not have active sweat glands on their skin and have a thick layer of fat under their skin to retain heat.

When it's hot, pigs are susceptible to heat stress because their bodies cannot cool themselves through sweat like humans.

Biological causes

1-Lack of sweat glands: Pigs have almost no sweat glands on their bodies, so water cannot be secreted to evaporate to cool the skin.

2-Thick layer of fat: The pig's body has a very thick layer of fat under the skin, which plays a role in retaining heat very well in the winter but hinders heat radiating to the environment in the summer.

3-Small surface ratio: Large body volume compared to skin surface area makes it difficult for pigs to release excess heat.

How pigs adapt themselves (but ineffectively):

Rapid breathing: Pigs increase their breathing rate (panting) to dissipate heat through the respiratory tract.

Find water and mud: Pigs have the instinct to lie in water or thin mud to lower their skin temperature through the evaporation of water on their bodies

Hoa Sen Vet Regimen:

Supplement electrolytes with glucose K + C in breakfast and lunch for the herd. On days when the herd is sick, stressed, or under extreme heat, you should add 24/7 Booster to help the herd quickly recover, reduce stress, and cool down.
